This year for Valentine’s Day, Josie and I get to celebrate it together! Andy is on call February 14th so we will celebrate later when he is off (oh, the joys of medical training). Even though she is too little to have memories, I decided that we will still make the evening special and enjoy dinner together (maybe wishful thinking but we will try!). One day when she is older I can show her pictures of the first Galentine’s we spent as mother and daughter. I’ve mentioned this before but, I love the process of looking through cookbooks and curating a menu. Since one of my love languages is carbs I’m going the homemade pasta route to celebrate. This is also a “baby friendly” menu since most of the prep will be done beforehand and I can prep over the weekend. All the recipes are from Aran Goyoaga’s Cannelle et Vanille cookbook, which I highly recommend for any gluten free cooking and baking! For next week’s holiday, Josie and I will light a candle, enjoy a glass of wine and celebrate our first Mother Daughter Valentine’s Day menu. I’m also working on a new playlist for the occasion so stay tuned next week!
