Okay these days are long. I don’t think we’ve seen the sun for a week now and I can feel it. It is our first winter back in the Midwest after being in the south for 4 years and I forgot about this part of winter. How are we coping? 1) baking. lots of it 2) an afternoon cup of coffee 3) sitting in quiet prayer each morning 4) moving my body for 30 min a day 5) taking my vitamin D supplement…really not sure if this helps but we are doing it 6) trying to get out of the house each day 7) eating more protein (between all the baking of course) 8) planning more house projects 9) Pinterest-ing, in moderation. 10) cleaning everything.

How are you coping with the dreary days of winter? Very open to all suggestions! Reminding myself that spring will be here soon enough trying to enjoy the last of these cozy days!

Looking back on the month, here is a quick collection of things I’ve loved.

xx

…10 Things I’m Loving this Month…

1. Evermill Spice Rack. I’ve been avoiding this for a while but I’ve come full circle. Working on organizing our spice situation and after much research and playing around with different storage options have decided to commit to the countertop rack.

2. A Place to Call Home. This is a book I currently own and love flipping through the layered pictures. Always a favorite this time of year.

3. Artichoke bowl. This little dish has served many purposes in our home and currently is holding all our keys. Looking to give it a home on a shelf by our back door.

4. Farmhouse Pottery Pie Server. Since being closer to family and friends we are inevitably hosting so much more. I love it. When I have people over now it comes to light the serving pieces I’m missing. We didn’t have a pie server and I got this one for my birthday.

5. Tulipmania Hand Wash. It may seem over the top but a luxurious hand soap is not below me. Being in the throws of motherhood and spending a lot of days at home, it’s my 30 second trip to the spa every time I use it.

6. Speckled Axe Coffee. My sister and her husband just visited from Portland, ME and brought us some of this coffee. This stuff was fantastic!

7. SMEG Drip Coffee Maker. We’ve had the SMEG coffee grinder since we got married and I’ve wanted the matching SMEG Drip Coffee Maker to go along side it. Reviews aren’t great so I put it off. But I found one on eBay and snatched it up! Honestly, it’s a drip coffee maker so it does the job. It’s a smaller carafe but if you don’t mind a smaller pot it is perfect.

8. Jenni Kayne Cedar Candle. Refreshed my kitchen candle and I’ve been lighting this one from Jenni Kayne while washing dishes and prepping meals. It smells earthy and sweet and brings me a little dose of happy while keeping up with mundane house things.

9. Shop Doen Sebastian Skirt. This recent release from Shop Doen is on my list! The perfect white skirt with lovely details. What is better for spring?!

10. Hooks. Our home doesn’t have a formal entryway and with all the ins and outs we have going we need creative storage solutions. Going to put some of these up in our kitchen (of all places) to hang coats, keys, purses, etc. I’ve got a little mini project to work on that I’ll be sharing on IG.
