NY Times does a feature every Sunday to showcase how various New Yorkers spend the last day of their weekend. I loved this idea and wanted to share with you all what my typical Sunday looks like.

Quality Time

During the week Andy and I are really busy and don’t get a lot of quality time together. Between work, volunteering, exercising, social schedules and other life things we can let time get away from us. On the Sunday’s he has off, I always look forward to starting our day with a cup of coffee on the couch together. We get to catch up and relax.

Sunday Morning

Growing up CBS Sunday Morning was a ritual of our family’s before going to church. To this day, I still tune in and get a snippet of what’s going on in the world. I enjoy the different features they have and the generally refreshing content that is delivered.

Church

We live right down the street from our church so every Sunday, when it’s not raining, we walk on over in our Sunday best to praise God.

Relax and Eat

The rest of the day I try to limit my use of technology/screens and truly make it a day of rest. Andy and I will cook a big meal then spend the rest of the day reading, going for a walk, and tending to our garden.

Skin Care

I try to prioritize some kind of detailed skin care routine. Right now, I start with a mask (either the Eminence Snow Mushroom and Reishi Mask or the IMAGE I Mask depending on what my skin needs) then follow with the Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser. I spray a hydration toner (loving Skin Script’s Cucumber Hydration Toner) then seal everything in with the Eminence Bamboo Firming Fluid.

Prepping

Looking ahead at what the week holds, planning out meals, booking workouts, etc. helps me relax before jumping into weekday craziness. I review my planner and make sure all my ducks are in a row.

Praying

At the close of the day, Andy and I will pray together. We started doing a prayer form called “A Trip”: Adoration, Thanksgiving, Repentance/Reflection, Intercession, Plan. The back and forth dialogue of this type of prayer has helped us grow closer to God and to one another.
