It always seems like right when you feel comfortable, settled in and things are completed in a home you move. In our Jefferson Ave apartment, everything was finally coming together and then we unexpectedly had to move. In our current home, we know we will be moving in May and yet I still want to finish up projects that will make our home feel “complete”. I might be some kind of crazy but in my defense, all the things we have completed our master bedroom with with move with us! I’ve been on the hunt for baskets to put under our nightstands for months–this was the hold up with things being completed. They had to be the right height, scale and I wanted natural fiber/woven. I looked high and low and finally came across some that would work (and were within our budget) on my Target run! Does Target ever fail?
Since our last apartment, the only changes we made to this bedroom were the bedside lamps, overhead light and nightstands. The layout of the room also didn’t allow for a chair or the dresser and with this rental I just didn’t want the time or energy to switch out the light fixture. The chair is now in our living room and the dresser fit inside our closet (not ideal but it works). I loved our Serena and Lily Flynn Sconses next to our bed but given the windows it just wouldn’t work.

Our bedroom has always been a place of retreat: a place I happily flop into after a long day of chasing a toddler around. Fluffy pillows and white soft sheets bring me more joy than warranted. The goal in our master bedroom is simple, create a light filled space with timeless pieces we could bring with us to wherever we move. Which we will be doing sooner rather than later hah! Here is how things look now in our current apartment!
