Spring is coming and here in NOLA the freshest of green shoots are starting to show. Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons down south! However, it is hard to juxtapose the blossoming newness with the destruction that is occurring on the other side of the world. We have the ability to be constantly consuming what is happening in Ukraine. From news to social media we can be under constant siege of feeling the hurt and pain in our humanity. Friends, know that through this fog of anxiety and heavy hearts there are many ways we can all contribute to support those who are experiencing incredible loss and uncertainty, whether that is monetarily, avenues of advocacy and/or heartfelt prayer. Know also that we must have persistent hope. I long for my family to grow up in a world filled with peace and when the waters feel so choppy I cannot help but retreat to dreams of quiet countryside living. As we walk through this week I pray that we all can find a moment of resting peace and grounding.
