I know that I didn’t bring you along on our journey of creating each room in our current apartment. The whirlwind of our unexpected move into this space 3 months before Josie was born and then the intensity of becoming new parents didn’t leave much room for “behind the scenes”. However, I wanted to catch up, if you will, before we pick up and move to our next home in a few short months (need to find a new home first but we will get there).
When we moved to our current apartment, we were lucky to have a dedicated guest bedroom! Our old place was a 2 bedroom and we were going to have a nursery/guest bedroom combo. It’s been nice for our family to come and be able to relax in their own space. Grated, it is not big by any means – we squeeze a queen bed and two bedside tables in there – but it is what we needed for hosting family and friends.
In our previous apartment I had different lamps in our guest bedroom/nursery combo – a wall sconce on one side and lamp on the other. I love it but since we can’t mount wall sconces given the window situation in our current guest bedroom I got a couple new lamps I had been eying for awhile.
Looking at the complete picture of this space it is quite obvious, I have a type. White linens, tan/oatmeal comforter, neutrals and black, florals, organic textures. What can I say friends? Plain as day, I have a style I gravitate towards. In our next home I’ve already been dreaming of challenging myself to incorporate more pattern and color but for now, I’m looking forward to hosting our family and friends for the remaining months we are here in this serene, neutral, window-filled rooms.
For a trip down memory lane, here is our previous apartment’s guest bedroom. As you’ll see, we didn’t change up anything major. Just had to readjust some of the details.
And here is our current guest bedroom! All sources are linked on my guest bedroom page.
