Lately I’ve been on a lamp kick. Something about the cold, dark, winter months has me drawn to sourcing all different lamps these days. In a previous post, I talked about how lamps can add a cozy layer to a room and I just love how the different bases and shade combinations can add texture and interest. When the sun sets earlier than usual, the overhead lights go down and the lamps come on creating a settling mood to end the day. From mini lamps, floor lamps, traditional table lamps and wall sconces (like the ones we have in our bedroom) there are so many different options. I was recently asked to pick out a lamp for my mother-in-law’s living room and sourced some of my favorites. Lamps are one of those elements that can quickly go down the trendy road and can also look cheap and out of place. Some lamps can get up there in price but I am always particular about what I am going to pay for so that it is an investment that will last a long time. This also makes styling a room when we move easier knowing the lamps are timeless and versatile.
